Memoir is a story that happens to be true.

The techniques that drive good fiction are equally necessary for narratives based on fact.  In this workshop, led by award-winning writer and teacher Blanche Boyd, we'll discuss what story you should tell and how you should tell it.  We'll explore the questions of character and pacing that are common to all writing while focussing on their expression in memoir.  We'll also discuss student work in progress.

Here's what some previous participants have had to say about Blanche:

"Blanche is an extraordinary writer and an even better workshop instructor.  She took the time to thoroughly read my submission and provide me with exceptionally valuable feedback." --Michael Weinstock, New York

"Boyd's workshop [was] keen and productive."  --Mary Ellen Connor Smith, Phoenix

The class will meet from 9:30 to 4:30 on Saturday June 25 in downtown Westport, Connecticut.  Tuition of $300 includes lunch.  Enrollment is limited.
